Movement Evaluation

  • Muscle inflexibility, strength imbalances, or compensation due to previous injury are all acknowledged as risk factors for injury. Even in many individuals performing activities or sport at a high level, limitations in fundamental movement may exist and contribute to injury or limited performance gains due to the use of inefficient compensatory movements and insufficient biomechanics. In many cases, the Movement Evaluation will identify these functional deficits so that proprioceptive, mobility, and stability limitations may be properly addressed through a well-designed program.

  • A Movement Evaluation is a comprehensive, whole-body musculoskeletal evaluation, recommended as part of your annual preventive and wellness routine and a prerequisite to participation in several Elevate appointment-based services. A Movement Evaluation is useful for anyone looking to improve upon their movement quality and decrease their risk of future injury.

  • A Movement Evaluation is performed by a physical therapist or athletic trainer and includes:

    • Review of health conditions and injury history

    • Whole-body movement screen including range of motion, flexibility, strength, and balance

    • Recommendations for maintaining or improving healthy movement patterns

    • Injury prevention recommendations

    • Discussion of goals and recommendations/referrals to local resources and services

  • Movement Evaluations are available Monday & Thursday 12PM-2:00PM by appointment.

Appointments outside of these hours can often be accommodated with advanced request.
